   An Egyptologist and Archaeologist, one of most experienced members of the team. Since 1964 a member of Czech archaeological expeditions to Egypt. He tooked part in the UNESCO campaign to save the monuments of Nubia. Specialised in the history and archaeology of Egypt in the 3rd millennium BC. and teaching Egyptology at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University, Prague. Visiting professor in Hamburg and Vienna. A number of lectures and conferences in Europe, USA and Egypt.
