   B.Vachala je egyptolog a arabista s dlouholetou praxí v Egyptě. Dlouhodobě se specializuje na egyptskou filologii, literaturu a dějiny. Od roku 1978 se přímo podílí na českých egyptologických pracích v Abúsíru, přičemž od roku 1992 působí i jako zastupující vedoucí archeologických expedic. Dr. Vachala je členem The International Association of Egyptologists, The International Society for Nubia Studies a The National Geographic Society.
