   L. Bareš je egyptolog s dlouholetou archeologickou a epigrafickou praxí v Egyptě. Specializuje se na otázky egyptské archeologie a dějin v 1. tis. př. Kr., v souvislosti s tím se zabývá i otázkami vývoje egyptských náboženských představ. Na archeologických pracích v EAR se podílí již od r. 1974. Doc. Bareš je členem The Egypt Exploration Society, The International Association of Egyptologists a České orientalistické společnosti.
